Here is my author interview with Allaina Daniels for The Virtual Book Con Event featuring fantasy and sci fi authors. We will be highlighting her book Infinity which is FREE on KU so make sure to grab your copy today!
What is your favorite thing about the fantasy/sci-fi genres?
I love living outside the box, exploring what if’s, and dreaming. Writing Urban Fantasy allows me to blend my expansive imagination with real life.
What is your favorite fantasy/sci-fi based movie?
Tolkiens’s epic stories of middle earth ( Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) would be the first to come to mind. So few fantasy movies actually pull off the book details so well.
How many books do you currently have in the fantasy/sci-fi genres and which one would you recommend new readers starting with?
I only have one novel published so far although I have a long laundry list of other books that must be written. It takes time when you’re a perfectionist. Pick up my book, Infinity, on Amazon or read it through Kindle Unlimited.
What one thing has changed about you or your writing from when you first started to now?
When I first began writing I rushed a lot which means that details were missed. Now, I take my time and the stories blossom in front of my eyes.
If you could vacation to any spot in the world with anyone where would you go and who would accompany you?
I’d love to visit Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, etc. And I would take my husband with me. He is my security blanket.
What do you find to be the hardest thing about writing or publishing a book?
The hardest thing to me is marketing. Writing a book is the easy part. Editing is a little more tedious. Marketing is like having your teeth pulled by a rabid monkey in the middle of the amazon rainforest while being constricted by an anaconda. It just isn’t any fun. (at least to me.)
Do you find that you sell more books during certain months or holidays versus other times?
I sell pretty steadily all of the time.
If you had one redo in life what would it be and why?
I’m very much a realist when it comes to my own life and I know that without the life I have already lived, I would not be where I am right now. I like where I am right now, so no changes need to be made.
What is your favorite part about being an author?
Creating and giving people a vacation from their minds.
Do you have any specific reviews or comments that stand out that you have received over time?
This review was titled Steamy, Riveting, and ohhh Sooo Good. By Reviews By Reds.
Wowsers! Allaina Daniels is an amazing breakout author. Infinity is filled with everything you could hope for in a novel. Mystery, intrigue, mouth watering sex, comedy & drama.
The characters are well developed and have so much personality. Carmen has grown up living a rough life and keeps her heart sheltered from pain. She relies on the strength and courage of her best friend Lissy. They represent the epitome of friendship. In walks Gabriel all sex on a stick like and turns Carmen’s world on it’s axis. He has all the answer she needs and is exactly what she wants even if she can’t realize it.
I was sucked into the original plot line from the beginning. I was cracking up, biting my nails and cussing the story. The emotion that is drawn out is so worth it. This story has me begging for the next book to be released. Allaina is sure to go far and I can’t wait to witness it.
