Here is my author interview with the talented Jessica Gomez for The Paranormal Romance Book Ball Event. Today we will be highlighting her book Infected so make sure to grab your copy if you have yet to do so.
Is paranormal romance one of your favorite genres to read and why yes or no?
Yes. Your traditional romance is great as well, but there is always something extra when you have paranormal thrown in the mix. The sky is the limit. Anything could happen at any time. I like the unexpected.
How many books do you currently have on the market that have some form of PNR in them and please give titles if you would like?
Only 1 at this time, INFECTED. I am currently finishing up book 2 in this series, IMMUNE, and will have pre-order soon. ~~This story takes place in the future when a chemical weapon Flashes in the sky, killing almost all of the human population and ripping away most of the remaining’s humanity. While struggling to survive, a group captures Lillie and strips her innocence from her. Leaving her with a child nine months later. While moving on with her life, she meets a young boy, and adds him to their small family. On a hunch, the family unit moves to the mountains of Oregon, in search of a lava tunnel that may be able to sustain life. When they reach their destination, what they find is more than they bargained for. INFECTED, amazon.com/author/jessicegomez
When it comes to reading and writing do you prefer standalone books or series and why for your answer?
Both. I love reading and sometimes, I prefer a quick book. So a standalone is perfect for this. But then there are times when I go on benders and series fit best at these times. Really depends on how much time I have. If I start a series, I tend to get wrapped up and don’t finish the things I should actually be doing.
Do you believe that any type of paranormal beings really exist such as vampires, ghosts etc. and if so what ones?
I believe that anything is possible. I definitely believe in ghosts. I like the idea of other supernatural beings being in our world. Makes for an exciting life.
What made you decide to write in the paranormal romance genre?
Since I really enjoy reading about this genre, it’s not a surprise that I’d write in the paranormal world. There is endless possibilities in this genre. Your mind is the limit.
What do you think makes the paranormal genre stand out from other genres and why would you recommend readers give it a try?
It’s a reading world that is unexpected. Not the norm for your average romance book or thriller. These types of books keep you on your toes and always wondering what will come next.
If you could co-write a PNR book with any author who would you choose and why?
The ultimate would be Stephen King. His books are insane! In a good way of course. His imagination doesn’t have a roof.
Being that you like PNR do you prefer the books to be modest or a bit more on the sultry side when reading or writing in this genre?
My taste is usually sultry. 😉 Always make for a bit of steam in the book.
What is your favorite thing about being an author in general?
This! Doing interviews, talking to other authors & fans, geeking out on books I’ve read, and what I can’t wait to release. I’ve always loved reviewing and reading. Now I get to do that but more in-depth.
Do you have any favorite paranormal TV shows or movies that you enjoy watching?
Sure do! I watch Vampire Diaries. Granted I have missed the last couple of seasons. Game of Thrones, Obsessed!
