Paranormal Romance Book Ball Author Interview – Danielle DeVor

danielleHere is my author interview with the talented Danielle DeVor for The Paranormal Romance Book Ball Event. Today we will be highlighting her book Sorrow’s Point so make sure to grab your copy if you have yet to do so.

Is paranormal romance one of your favorite genres to read and why yes or no?
I read anything with vampires, and well, since Anne Rice came out, vampires have featured a large portion of characters in paranormal romance novels. : )

How many books do you currently have on the market that have some form of PNR in them and please give titles if you would like?
There are two books I have out that have elements of Paranormal Romance. Constructing Marcus and Sorrow’s Point. Sorrow’s Point is unusual because it is dark fantasy/horror with a romantic side story.

When it comes to reading and writing do you prefer standalone books or series and why for your answer?
It depends on the story, really. There have been some standalone novels that I wish had been series because I wanted more in that world.

Do you believe that any type of paranormal beings really exist such as vampires, ghosts etc. and if so what ones?
I believe in them all. You see them out of the corner of your eye.

What made you decide to write in the paranormal romance genre?
Constructing Marcus was the only book I consciously wanted to be PNR. I hadn’t written in the genre yet, so I decided to give it a go.

What do you think makes the paranormal genre stand out from other genres and why would you recommend readers give it a try?
I think because we all like to imagine the fantastic, and what is better than seeing someone beautiful that has powers you don’t have decide they want to pay attention to you? It is a great escape.

If you could co-write a PNR book with any author who would you choose and why?
Melodie Ramone. She is a lot of fun and full of amazing ideas.

Being that you like PNR do you prefer the books to be modest or a bit more on the sultry side when reading or writing in this genre?
I have the brain of a 12-year-old boy at times, so I tend to prefer the more modest books because otherwise, really silly comments pop into my head and pull me out of the story. LOL.

What is your favorite thing about being an author in general?
Meeting fans. I love talking to readers and getting to know them.

Do you have any favorite paranormal TV shows or movies that you enjoy watching?
I’m really into The Magicians series on SYFY right now. Can’t wait for the next season to start. : ) Lucifer on FOX is also fun.
