Paranormal Romance Author Lilian Jade – Book Elves Event Interview

Here is the interview that I did with Lilian Jade for the Book Elves on the Shelves Event. She will be taking over Dec. 1st 6-7pm CENTRAL!

Are you an indie author or with a publisher and what do you find the pros and cons to be for each?
I’m an indie author, hmm lets see what my pro’s & con’s of being an indie could be! okay firstly I love being able to have full control of how I get to write my books, characterization for all characters, and being able to set my own release dates! what I don’t like about being indie is that it is so much harder for me to get my books out there among the readers. I think for authors with a publisher would be something I would like to look into later on but I’m not sure if I’m ready for them to ridicule the in’s and out’s of each and every one of my manuscripts and have them change it drastically to meet certain criteria if that even makes sense.

What is your current “work in progress”?
Right now I am working on book two in “The Donahue McGregor Saga” called “Highland Storm” I’m not sure if I will get this book out on the day I’m hoping for because right now the said MUSE is focusing on book three in stead. πŸ™

How many books do you currently have out and titles if you would like?
As I am pretty new to the whole author writer world I would have to say that “Highland Darkness” is my first ever debut novel out in the world.

What one character from your book or books do you connect with most and why?
I believe the character I connect well with would have to be Lilith McGregor there is something to be said about a character when they have lived a life but not really lived, where they fall, learn and strive so hard to become a some body! at that point they realize that life is full of not only beautiful things but also the scary ass bull that goes with it. Lilith is a character who has so many locked doors that are soon to be discovered so yes who ever reads my books will learn that there is more to Lilith that meets the eyes of a mere mortal.

Being that this event is for the Christmas Season do you have any special traditions that you would like to share with us?
Hahaha here in New Zealand a few of our traditions are: family B.B.Q’s, Pavalova, I guess we sing and well drink a lot lol but I think everyone kind of does that lol.

What is your favorite Christmas dessert?
My mum (mom) makes the best steamed pudding its a beautiful butter scotch cake made in a massive pot of boiling water and taste like heaven served with cream, peaches and or custard *licks lips* lol

What is the worst gift that you have ever received for Christmas?
Um well to be honest not every year I got a present when I was younger but I learnt family gathering and meals were just the best for me….I’m an outdoors kind of lady bring along food and company and that is all I need lol.

Who is your favorite author and or favorite book?
I have a couple Karen Marie Moning is my number one, then Kresley Cole, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Keri Arthur, Jennifer Sage, Alexis Morgan, hmmm yeah I have a few number one’s lol.

If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Kind, understanding, bitch lol sorry I had to be honest but most won’t believe the later lol

What are your thoughts on being apart of the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves event?
I’m excited! well of course I am I’m new and this is a big experience for me so I look forward to hanging out with a lot of readers, authors/writers and friends :p
