Paranormal Romance Author Josette Reuel – Book Elves Event Interview

Here is my interview with Josette Reuel for the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves Event. She will be doing her takeover on Nov. 30th 1-2 pm CENTRAL so make sure to stop by and say hi!

Are you an indie author or with a publisher and what do you find the pros and cons to be for each?
Indie – I like having complete control over my stories and the final product.

What is your current “work in progress”?
Accepting the Bear: Dásreach Council Novels 2
A novella for an anthology
An erotic paranormal romance short story for an anthology
A paranormal romance short story for an anthology

How many books do you currently have out and titles if you would like?
My debut novel was “Finding the Dragon: Dásreach Council Novels 1” and is my only published work. Book 2 in the series is scheduled out at the beginning of 2015.

What one character from your book or books do you connect with most and why?
In “Finding the Dragon,” Alvena Anderson was modeled after myself. Her characteristics are very much me and her issues are some of what I have dealt with in my own life. She is a way for me to work through my own doubts and insecurities while showing that it is possible to grow stronger and overcome the past.

Being that this event is for the Christmas Season do you have any special traditions that you would like to share with us?
Each year I buy an ornament for each of my children. Nothing special, just something that represents them for that year. We always put the tree up right after Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I usually start shopping early and have presents wrapped and under the tree. The month between Thanksgiving and Christmas is killer for me. I’m not a patient person and I’m the one talking my kids into opening a present early!

What is your favorite Christmas dessert?
I’m a huge fan of pumpkin pie this time of year is always my favorite because of all of the pumpkin desserts that are out. Warm pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream — I can live on it.

What is the worst gift that you have ever received for Christmas?
Seriously, I’ve never really gotten a bad gift. Or, maybe I’ve blocked the memory because it’s so awful. LOL

Who is your favorite author and or favorite book?
Two words… TOO MANY!
However, I’m very excited about joining forces with two friends. We’ve started a collaborative effort to promote and share our books – Triple Threat Romance. Chelsea O’Neal and Abbie Carlisle are two of my favorite people and astounding authors.

If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Creative, Opinionated, Empathic

What are your thoughts on being apart of the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves event?
I love doing events such as this because I get to interact with so many great authors and readers.
