Are you an indie author or with a publisher and what do you find the pros and cons to be for each?
Gwen: At this point I am a traditionally published author with Harlequin. Though I will be expanding into indie published books in the new year. I love having a traditional publisher. A pro is having the name “Harlequin” associated with my name. And I love the people there so much that I took a trip to New York just to meet them in person. Of course, there is always the other side of the coin. One of the cons is having to wait to see your work in print. Builds anticipating, but sometimes you just can’t wait any longer! Indie publishing offers that instant gratification.
What is your current “work in progress”?
Gwen: I have a couple on the go. And of course, I don’t like to reveal exactly what I’m working on until everything is finalized and getting ready to go out the door. But I will say that it’s Urban Fantasy, involves shifters, and has a nice twist that I adore.
How many books do you currently have out and titles if you would like?
Gwen: I currently have two novellas out. Her Alpha Protector and A Hunter’s Passion.
What one character from your book or books do you connect with most and why?
Gwen: Between my two novellas, I connected most with Ryker from A Hunter’s Passion. But the female lead protagonist in my current work-in-progress definitely trumps that. Outspoken, strong in her beliefs, and not afraid to show it.
Being that this event is for the Christmas Season do you have any special traditions that you would like to share with us?
Gwen: I actually live about 7 hours away from my family. In the recent years, it’s become tradition to do a Google Call so I can watch my nieces and nephews open their gifts.
What is your favorite Christmas dessert?
Gwen: Cake. No doubt about it. Or cookies! Both! Mmm cake & cookies.
What is the worst gift that you have ever received for Christmas?
Gwen: I will always remember this velvet suit my parents bought me for Christmas once. Hopefully, I managed to accept it with grace and gratitude, but oh my, it was hideous.
Who is your favorite author and or favorite book?
Gwen: I laughed when I read that question. I have to pick one? I’m bouncing between Ilona Andrews, Jeaniene Frost, and Kim Harrison. I’ll give it to Ilona Andrew just because of the three, she’s the one I’ve read most recently. Definitely can’t pick a favorite book. They’re all so amazing.
If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Gwen: Confident, kind, and supportive.
What are your thoughts on being apart of the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves event?
Gwen: I’m excited! I love meeting new readers and new people, and it’s going to be great to branch out.
