Teresa Gabelman

I have completed my interview with the talented Teresa Gabelman and let me tell you her writing style is one of the more unique ones that I have ran across lately and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for taking the time to do the interview with us and I hope that I have the privilege or reviewing more of her work in the future. If you would like to check out the book review that I did on Damon which is the first book in the Protectors Series click HERE!

Check our all the books that we have listed by her: Vampires

How did you come up with the idea for the Protectors Series?
Actually I didn’t come up with the Protectors Series until after Damon was almost finished. It just came to me because well, they are protectors of their own race as well as the human race. I’m pretty sure that was my reasoning at the time.

When choosing character names for the Protectors Series including Damon is there any special attachments to them?
Actually the only attachment, I guess you could say, is Slade, who doesn’t come into play until later books, but a reader picked the name during the contest and I think that was pretty cool. Plus I have a super crush on Slade so, you know. HA!

Are you self-published and if so what is one of the biggest challenges that you have faced?
Yes, I am self-published and very proud to be an Indie Author. I think the biggest challenge was trying to get my books seen by potential readers, but with the help of awesome people like yourself, other bloggers and readers it finally happened. You just have to keep on going and never give up no matter what.

Did you know that this would be a series from the start or did you at one point thing Damon may be a standalone book?
I always knew it was going to be a series, but never knew how many books and I still don’t. As new Warriors are introduced and readers want their book then I will write it.

Is vampires your favorite thing to write about or do you have a hidden passion for other paranormal oddities that we may see from you in the future?
I love cowboy’s. I’ve always loved cowboy’s and have actually written two western romances, one historical and one modern day. One day I would like to put those out there, but right now my sexy alpha vamps have all my focus.  Oh and I also love Knights, but I think I’ll stick with just reading those.

Who is your biggest supporter and why?
I don’t have just one big supporter. It starts with my family, to my friends, to my readers, to my editor, to my street team, to the bloggers and other authors who’ve shared their knowledge with a unknowing new author. I’m blessed with the support system I have and they are all equal in my eyes, just one big support team and cherish them all!

How many books are currently in the Protectors Series and how many will there be in total?
Four total which are Damon, Jared, Duncan and Sid. Currently working and almost finished with Adam and then Slade is next. Not sure how many more will follow, but Sloan will most definitely be the last book in the series when the series is finished. Wow, that made me sad to type. LOL!

Do you have a favorite author and how have the impacted the writer that you are today?
Actually there are so many awesome authors out there that I love, some Indie and some traditional it would be hard to say who was my favorite. I think all authors impact the writer I am today because I feel a kinship with them. I know every author out there has hoped with everything they have that the reader will like what they wrote and if they don’t then I believe they are in this business for the wrong reason. Some say write what you love and who cares what people think. Well I do care what people think because I’m not writing for just me. I write what I love, but I also write for other’s who love to read the same things I do. Hope I explained that okay. I get carried away and blab….a lot.  LOL!

Are you currently working on any other projects that you would like to share with our readers?
Just trying to focus on Adam right now along with getting the word out about the Protectors Series. I can’t have too much going on or a I freak out and can’t do a darn thing because I’m afraid I’ll forget something or someone.

What advice would you give to other budding authors that are just starting out?
Never ever give up. If this is your passion and dream then do it. ‘Dream it, live it’  is tattooed on my ankle and I truly believe in those words. It will be overwhelming at times, but it’s so worth it in the end and most importantly always remember those who helped you along the way.
