Gabriella Lepore

I just completed my interview with Gabriella Lepore who is also another participant of the event Witchy Wednesday. Thank you for doing the interview with me Gabriella!!

What inspired you to write a witchy related book?
I’ve always been fascinated by witches, I’m inspired by the idea. Also, there’s so much you can do with witch characters–perhaps because they can be written in so many different forms.

Do you have a favorite witch movie or tv show?
Growing up I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch! And Hocus Pocus is my all time favorite movie. Maybe that’s where the love of witches started!

If you could cast a single spell on someone who would it be and what would the spell consist of?
I like the idea of Good Luck spells. It could be a little chant that I could cast every now and then when people look like they could do with some good fortune!

What is your favorite paranormal creature and why?
It has to be a phoenix. They’re mysterious and powerful, and I really like that they can regenerate themselves! They’re linked to the fire element too, which is always cool.

If you was a witch and had to have a familiar but it could not be the typical cat what animal would you choose?
Oh, that’s a really good question! I’d probably say a black panther. Or maybe something quirky like a racoon!

What is the name of your witch book/books and your pen name?
I have three YA books and all of them are witch themed, but in very different ways. They’re called How I Found You, Evanescent, and The Witches of the Glass Castle.

Do you have a favorite witch book other than your own?
There are a lot of really great witch books out there, it’s tough to choose one. I’m going to go with a classic, Jill Murphy’s children’s series, The Worst Witch.

If your witch book was to be turned into a movie who would be casted as your main characters?
I think someone like Samantha Barks would make a good Mia from The Witches of the Glass Castle. She looks a lot like the model on the book cover actually.

When it comes to the witches in your book please give me three words to describe them including looks, characteristics or even just the type of witch they are.
Strong-willed, sassy, free-spirited!
