I just finished finished my interview with the lovely Belle Roccaforte and really enjoyed reading her answers. Thank you Bella for doing the interview with me and I look forward to seeing more of you and your work in the future. Check out the book review that I did on the first book in the series Fine Lines HERE:
How did you come up with the idea for Ink and I am curious how you also come up with the name it being so unique?
The idea for the INK series actually came from a nightmare. I had the nightmare about 20 years ago and it really stuck with me so when I started writing, this story just flowed from me. As far as the name, I really couldn’t tell you exactly where it came from, it’s always been my INK story.
Do you connect with any of your characters on a personal level and if so who and why?
I connect with most of my characters. This being my first series, as authors we typically write what we know. I’m no exception to this rule. But if you want to know which character I relate to the most it would have to Trish – I love her.
How many books do you forsee for the Ink Series?
With the prequel we are looking at 6 books in the series. Hopefully if all goes as planned it will be completed by the end of the year.
What one word would you use to describe the type of author that you are?
Can you tell us something about yourself that you readers might be surprised by?
Yes, that I do NOT watch horror movies, read scary books or watch scary tv. Except for The Walking Dead which I have my head covered half the time.
What do you think is the easiest thing about being an author as well as the hardest and why?
Meeting the readers is the easiest. I love talking to folks, it’s sort of my thing. I’m not an introvert like so many other authors. The hardest is trying to please everyone.
Who is your biggest supporter and why?
There are so many who support but I would have to say that Heidi my street team captain is my biggest supporter. She helps me so much try to keep so many things straight, she always talks me off the ledge when I’m having a bad day. She is totally amazing!
Who is your favorite author and how have they impacted the type of author that you are today?
Unfair and tough question – I have three that have had a major impact on my life and career. Addison Moore, C.S. Marks and Sarra Cannon! They are all amazing and I love their work!
Do you have any advice that you would like to share with other authors that are just getting started?
Yes absolutely, just sit down and do it!!! AND as Sarra Cannon says, Give yourself permission to suck!
