Paranormal Author A.K. Michaels – Book Elves Event Interview

Here is the event that I did with A.K. Michaels for the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves Event! Make sure to join us as she takes over on Nov. 29th 12 -1pm Central Time!

Are you an indie author or with a publisher and what do you find the pros and cons to be for each?
I’m an Indie author and the truth is I never even thought of going any other route. I like the freedom to do what I want, when I want it, without anyone telling me what to do. I work hard and like that I can do things without having to check in with anyone whether it’s okay or not.

What is your current “work in progress”?
Oh I’m working on book 3 in my Supernatural Enforcement Bureau series, which I’m really trying hard to get out for Xmas!

How many books do you currently have out and titles if you would like?
I’ve got 17 books at the minute and another on way, I have several series out, The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire series, Sabrina’s Vampire series, Defender’s Blood series and also Supernatural Enforcement Bureau. I’m hoping to start a new Wolf Clan series in January.

What one character from your book or books do you connect with most and why?
Oh I hate these questions lol, mainly because I can’t pick just one! I love Alex from Defender’s Blood as she was the first one I wrote about but I also love Peri from Witch, Wolf, Vampire and then there’s Starr from Supernatural Enforcement Bureau! Nope, sorry, can’t pick one.

Being that this event is for the Christmas Season do you have any special traditions that you would like to share with us?
We usually open one present on Christmas Eve and have done that for most of our lives, apart from that, it’s chocolate for breakfast and traditional Christmas dinner.

What is your favorite Christmas dessert?
Well it’s not traditional but I always have at least one meringue desert as I love meringue!

What is the worst gift that you have ever received for Christmas?
Hmm, hubs was going to buy me some kitchen gadgets one year but luckily one of our daughters told him ‘no way’. She probably saved her father’s life that year lol!

Who is your favorite author and or favorite book?
It has to be Enid Blyton and her Famous Five series as that’s what got me into reading at a young age. From that point on words were magical to me and I could escape inside my own imagination.

If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Weird, short and blonde.

What are your thoughts on being apart of the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves event?
I’m soooooooo looking forward to it! I love all of Fang’s events! They are always so well run and such great fun so am very excited to be a part of this fantabulous event!
