Author Belinda Miller – Book Elves Event Interview

Here is the interview that I did with Belinda Miller for the Book Elves on the Shelves Event. Her takeover is on Dec. 5th 6-7pm CENTRAL so make sure to stop by and hang out for a bit!

Are you an indie author or with a publisher and what do you find the pros and cons to be for each?
Have done both. Right now, I’m self publishing Phillip’s Quest, Book II: Above the Stars. There is the control factor. With self-publishing, you have total control but it is so much more work!

What is your current “work in progress”?
Phillip’s Quest, Book II: Above the Stars has a release date of 12/01/14. The Ragwort Chronicles, Book 2: Along the Way, is the most current work in progress.

How many books do you currently have out and titles if you would like?
Phillip’s Quest, Book I: Winterfrost
Phillip’s Quest, Book II: Above the Stars (12/01)
The Ragwort Chronicles, The Beginning: The Ragworts of Brokenfell

What one character from your book or books do you connect with most and why?
In the Phillip’s Quest Series, I love Phillip but relate to Dreamspinner, the dinosaur. She’s a bit of a feminist!

Being that this event is for the Christmas Season do you have any special traditions that you would like to share with us?
Christmas Eve is a big tradition at my house. My friend “family” get together and celebrate. Lots of food, wine and laughter.

What is your favorite Christmas dessert?
All the homemade cookies and cakes!

What is the worst gift that you have ever received for Christmas?
An empty bag.

Who is your favorite author and or favorite book?
My favorite book is “Gone with the Wind.”
Tolkien is my favorite author.

If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Intelligent, creative, generous.

What are your thoughts on being apart of the upcoming Book Elves on the Shelves event?
Another way to market my books!
